Economical Humidity and Temperature Sensors for HVAC

  • Economical Transmitters
Economical Transmitters

Humidity and temperature sensors for HVAC applications allow heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to respond to changes in ambient temperature and measure relative humidity.

Good operation of HVAC systems depends on their ability to detect temperature and humidity with high accuracy and switch their output accordingly.

Envin Scientific’s humidity and temperature sensors allow for the construction of thermostats and humidistats/hygrostats specifically suited to HVAC applications and with a very high degree of build quality.

Galltec+Mela humidity and temperature sensors

We supply Galltec+Mela temperature and humidity sensors from Germany, which have been developed specifically to meet the needs of HVAC systems and applications.

They include three different types of HVAC sensors:

  •         KL: HVAC sensors for duct installation.
  •         PL: Cable-suspended sensors for any location.
  •         WL: Wall-mounted temperature/humidity sensors.

WL-series temperature and humidity sensors can be installed against any internal wall, ideally away from heaters and windows, and can also be fitted using flush-mounted sockets.

Both the KL and PL series also come equipped as standard with gauze filters, and a range of alternative filters can also be supplied by request.

Maintenance is minimal and in most cases simply blowing any residual dust off of the sensor is enough to restore it to good operation.

If dust has adhered to the surface of the sensor, on both the KL and PL series, the sensors can be rinsed using distilled water to remove the dust.

Accurate readings

Readings should be as accurate as possible, and with Galltec+Mela temperature and humidity sensors you get proven confidence in the measurements taken by the sensors.

Temperature is accurate to within 1 C or 1.8 F in the range 10-40 C (50-104 F) while humidity is accurate to within 3% at 40-60% and 5% outside of that range.

Humidity measurements have a range of 0-100% rh and a working range of 15-90% rh, while mavia the active output have a range of 0-50 C.

All of these specifications can be found on the product datasheet available for download from the Envin Scientific website.

About the Mela® capacitive sensing element

The Mela® capacity humidity sensing element is designed especially to meet the challenges of working in HVAC applications.

It offers excellent stability over the long term, good dynamic performance and small hysteresis, with strong resistance to dew formation.

All of this helps you to know that the measurements you take are of true ambient air conditions, and not influenced by accumulation of moisture on the sensing element itself.

You can find out more about Galltec+Mela sensors including the highly economical L-series and the compact M-series miniature sensor on this website, including downloadable datasheets for products in both series.

If you have any other questions relating to temperature and humidity sensors for HVAC applications, or you would like to ask us which product is best suited to your needs, please get in touch.

You can use any of the contact details on this site to send your enquiry and a member of the Envin Scientific team will get back to you as soon as possible with an answer.

Economical transmitters for measuring humidity (r.h.) and temperature are primarily optimized for HVAC applications. Thanks to their high-quality manufacturing, these transmitters can also be used in industrial settings under moderate conditions.
